Module
Two.....
Having succeeded in improving performance
beyond most delegates expectations in Module One, delegates begin to
realise that good presentations and speeches are achieved by putting
the emphasis on delivery first and foremost. Only after the
person has reached a good standard of presentation should
consideration be given to support material in the form of visual
aids.
A PowerPoint presentation can then be
thought through to support and enhance the speaker's information
|
Module Two adds to the speaker's
knowledge by introducing the structure of planning and preparation
for a presentation and the structure of the actual presentation.
In planning, always prepare your Objective first, don't try to
write an Opener first. This comes later. Prepare the
presentation for your audience - not for yourself.
Research your audience, study your speaking environment and
consider the need for PowerPoint slides and only use if absolutely
sure
they will enhance your presentation.
The three criteria for your slides are
-
Colourful
-
Creative
-
Pictorial
Always ask yourself initially, "Do I really need slides?"
Remember, if you only speak to a set of bullet points this will
not result in a good performance and opportunities will be lost.
If there is material to read on screen, your audience will read
rather than listen and you the speaker become somewhat redundant
to the presentation.
Chris Downing will show you how to create value added visual aids
that wake up the audience and support the message of the speakers
strongly. Learn how to insert appropriate video clips and
digital effects that enhance and underline those important
messages.
Module Two includes sessions on using digital technologies to
create visual aids, audience analysis methods, basic script
writing guidance, and use of all the equipment and facilities at a
major event such as video and audio systems. And many more
practise opportunities, role plays, video feedback and supportive
analysis and evaluation.
